Wheaties champ meets fans at Sun Prairie store | Business

An Olympic gold medalist signed autographs at a local grocery store after the store won a national contest through Wheaties, the General Mills brand.

Cereal box cover model and volleyball Olympian Misty May-Treanor was at the Woodman’s in Sun Prairie Feb. 7 to sign autographs and meet with fans.

Wheaties held a national Wheaties display building contest and the Sun Prairie grocer won, bringing May-Treanor to the store for the event.

A crowd gathered to get the Wheaties champ’s signature at the afternoon event, held 3:30-6 p.m. Store-goers got photos with the athlete and attendees even got a peek at her gold medal, which was on site with May-Treanor.
