Senior center to sell brats Friday

The will host a bratwurst sale Friday.

In addition to brats, there will be hot dogs, chips, soda and water for sale at the Colonial Club Senior Activity Center from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Bank to host lunchtime summer grill out

A Sun Prairie bank said it will host an open house on Aug. 22 from noon-2 p.m.

AnchorBank invited residents for a summer grill out to meet the branch's new staff.

"Everyone is welcome to stop by for lunch," Branch Manager Lisa Reinsad said in the news release. 

The open house takes place at the Sun Prairie AnchorBank branch, 1516 W. Main St.

Police to take part in OWI enforcement program

The Sun Prairie Police Department said it will join hundreds of other law enforcement agencies throughout the state in cracking down on drunken driving during the annual "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign from Friday to Sept. 1.

In a news release, the Sun Prairie Police Department said it will urge citizens to be cautious and careful while operating a vehicle during the focused enforcement program on drunken driving. Officers are asking citizens to make good judgment calls before getting into a car and use a designated driver or another way home if impaired.

Sun Prairie's National Night Out

The City of Sun Prairie will once again host its National Night Out celebration on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 6-8 p.m. in Downtown Sun Prairie in Cannery Square. This year's event will feature staff, vehicles, and equipment from a wide array of public safety agencies, including the Sun Prairie Police Department, the Sun Prairie EMS, the Sun Prairie Volunteer Fire Department, and many more!

In addition, National Night Out will be one of the last opportunities to participate in this year's "Stuff the Bus" campaign to provide local kids the school supplies they need for a successful year.

The Sun Prairie Downtown Business Improvement District will once again be hosting their Hot August Nights Classic Car Cruise on Market St. at the same time as National Night Out. The car cruise will feature live music from Elvis Tribute Star Tony Rocker, and food will be available from Market Street Diner and Beans 'n' Cream.
