WATCH: See inside Cabela's as staff preps to open in late April

Mary Jo Ola checks out the new Cabela's in Sun Prairie, which is set to open later this month.

The 90,000-square-foot store is designed to offer an immersive outdoor experience with log construction, stonework, a mountain replica, aquarium, indoor archery range, dozens of wildlife displays and outdoor and wildlife sounds.

Cabela's store includes a cafe, fudge shop and gun library, according to a news release.

Cabela's has employed about 225 employees to staff the store.

When it opens on April 30, the store will become Cabela's fourth location in Wisconsin, joining Prairie du Chien, Richfield and Green Bay. It will be the company’s 68th location across North America.

ALDI grocery store opening in Sun Prairie this month

On Jan. 29, ALDI will open a new store in Sun Prairie. The store will be at 750 Bunny Trail.

This will be the fourth ALDI location in the Madison area.

To celebrate the opening, ALDI will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. on Jan. 29. The public is invited. Following the ceremony, the first 100 shoppers will receive a golden ticket, each containing ALDI gift certificates for various amounts.

Customers can also tour the store, sample ALDI exclusive brand products and enter an sweepstakes for a chance to win a year's supply of ALDI produce.

The Sun Prairie store features high ceilings, natural lighting and environmentally friendly building materials, such as recycled materials and energy-saving refrigeration and light bulbs, to ensure that customers enjoy a shopping experience that is simple and easy to navigate.

Prairie Music Academy hosts grand opening at new space

The Prairie Music Academy is celebrating its 15-year anniversary and its relocation to a bigger space at 798 Lois Drive with a grand opening Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

New business to offer free massages at ribbon-cutting

New business to offer free massages at ribbon-cutting

A Sun Prairie business will offer food and free massages at its official grand opening next week. 

Elements Massage's open house will take place from 3-7 p.m. Aug. 6 at the business, 2804 Prairie Lakes Drive, Suite 102. 

The company said it will offer free 15-minute chair massages and serve light hors d’oeuvres. Attendees can get tours of the facilities and information about massage and overall wellness. 

The Sun Prairie Chamber of commerce will also hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony. 

Elements Massage of Sun Prairie is located across from Costco. There are two other Elements Massage business in the Madison area including Fitchburg at 6317 McKee Road and in Middleton at 1950 Cayuga St., according to the company website. 

Council approves Aldi's plan, reduces traffic fee

Last week the Sun Prairie City Council  approved a plan for a new Aldi grocery store to be on Bunny Trail and reduced the traffic impact fee the company will be assessed, according to a Sun Prairie Star report. 

Aldi expects construction to begin the first week of August and the store to be completed in 2015.

New fitness apparel, training store to open in fall

A new fitness shoe and apparel store is scheduled to open in Sun Prairie this fall. 

Fleet Feet Sports Madison owners Matt & Jessica Anderson announced in June that they would open a second store in the Shoppes at Prairie Lakes shopping center at 2828 Prairie Lakes Drive. 

The Andersons said the new Fleet Feet should open in September. Fleet Feet offers sporting goods like apparel, athletic shoes and training. 

"With this expansion, Fleet Feet Sports will be accessible to even more people in the greater Madison area so we can share our passion for serving customers and encouraging the fitness lifestyle," the Andersons said in a news release.
